Replacing one of our lifts

Replacing one of our lifts

I just wanted to let you know in advance that we are going to replace one of the lifts in the Library. The grey lift near the IT Help Desk is reaching the end of its working life and needs to be replaced. This work will start next Monday (18 March) and continue until 31 May 2024.

The other lift in the Atrium will be available throughout, and we are working closely with the contractors and our colleagues in Estates to minimise noise and disruption. Most of the noisy work will be completed early in the morning when the library is least busy to minimise disruption. You can always ask for a pair of sound-cancelling earplugs at the Reception Desk as well, which can help cut down the noise from anything from building work to nearby conversations.

Keep an eye on our newsfeed and signs around the Library for project updates. We will signpost you to quieter study spaces in the Library whenever noisy work occurs.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t be afraid to reach out to us or ask any member of library staff in person.
