Christmas is coming

Christmas is coming, and with it Christmas Library opening hours!

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat…

~ traditional english carol

24/7 library opening ends at midnight at the end of Friday 20 December. Our seasonal opening hours are already available on our website, and posters will go up at the end of next week. Please check our opening hours before coming in to visit the Library over the holidays because we will be closed for a few days and no-one wants you to travel all the way in only to be disappointed!

All our electronic resources and online chat will continue to be available 24/7 throughout the Christmas period. You can chat online with a real, live librarian anytime, even at 3 am on New Years’ Day. With that said, if you want to chat with a local librarian, please make sure you get in touch before 4.45 pm on Monday 23 December. After that, our enquiries team will be on holiday. We’ll be back and here to help you in person and online from Thursday 2 January onwards.

24/7 Library opening resumes at the start of the new term, from Monday 13 January 2025.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us.
