Film screening this Wednesday – ‘Walter Rodney: What They Don’t Want You to Know’

The Film and Media Research Group (School of Film, Media, and Creative Technologies) is delighted to welcome director Arlen Harris to facilitate a screening of Walter Rodney: What They Don’t Want You to Know (Daniyal Harris-Vajda and Arlen Harris, 2023).

Featuring a murder, Cold War conspiracies, Black Power and the end of Empire, this original 72-minute documentary explores how these issues connect to the policing, surveillance practices and social movements of today. The Walter Rodney Foundation, Patricia Rodney and the Ameena Gafoor Institute have been vital in making this documentary possible.

Following the screening, Arlen Harris will discuss the making of the film and take questions from the audience. Wine and light refreshments will be available.
