Safe, private spaces for breastfeeding

We are excited to unveil a new dedicated bookable pod for new mothers to breastfeed and express milk. Not everyone is comfortable feeding their baby or expressing milk in public, so we have introduced bookable breastfeeding pods in the Library and Richmond building exclusively to support new mothers.

Bookable through your Google Calendar and accessed via a combination lock, these spacious pods feature a comfortable chair with plug sockets and a small table, and can be locked for privacy. Full details about how to book the new pod are now available on MyPort.

The Library breastfeeding and expressing pod is on the second floor, just across the walkway from the Individual Silent Study zone. The quickest route to it is up the wooden stairwell from the Atrium, turn left towards the art books, and then follow the rows of shelving to the far end.

We’d love to hear how you are finding the new facilities. Drop an email to library@port.ac.uk, chat with us online, or stop by any staffed desk and let us know how we’re doing!
