Come celebrate Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Month with us

Come view our latest photography exhibit exploring the self-identity and lifestyles of Roma, Gypsy, and Traveller communities in celebration of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month, now showing in the library ground and first-floor display areas.

It’s quite an eye-opener. The photographs were taken as part of an ethnographic visual culture study into the lives of marginalised communities by Dr Annabel Tremlett in the School of Health and Social Sciences. Annabel’s work challenges prejudices and preconceptions, helps minority groups tell their own stories and represents them honestly and authentically as they see themselves.

The display is part of Annabel’s ongoing work to challenge prejudices and preconceptions, help minority groups tell their own stories and represent them honestly and authentically as they see themselves. You can read an article on her pre-pandemic work in the British Academy Review.
