April’s book display from our Rare Books Collection

Our NFWB collection inspired Havant College textile students to make art. Their work is exhibited near a complemental display of books from our Rare Books Collection. Looking at both displays it is not easy to see which came first, the art or the books. Pop up to the first floor of the library to see if you can work out why we chose pages showing Quentin Blake’s illustrations; linocuts by Gavin Robbins; concertinaed micro books and a rather old Girl’s Own Annual. Our Rare Books Collection includes old and rare books, limited editions and signed copies. They are reference only but may be carefully consulted by asking at the library reception desk.  We would love to see more student/staff work displayed here, please get in touch if you’d like to use the library’s display space.

The Havant College work, and the Rare Books will be on display until the end of June 2022.

HSDC Textile students work on the first floor in the atrium.
