Borrow a laptop and connect your phone

Those not currently marvelling at how many networked desktop computers available on the ground floor in the Library are probably wondering how they can most easily work flexibly where they want with a laptop.

You are welcome to bring in your own laptop and mobile devices and connect them wirelessly to our fast, secure Eduroam wi-fi network. You can plug them in on the ground floor under the desks and around the pillars and in most areas of the upper around the walls and on the floors under the desks.

You can also borrow laptops with chargers from the grey lockers on the library ground floor, near the IT Help Desk. Simply scan your student card over the black fob on the front of the lockers and a locker door should open – help yourself. You only need to remember which bank of lockers you used, so you can scan the same fob and return the laptop. Laptops can be borrowed for up to 12 hours at a time and used anywhere within the library building, including the bookable group study rooms, the Meeting Room, and the Postgraduate Study Suite.

Please plug the laptop in when you return it, so that it gets properly charged for the next person who needs it! Any problems, you can get help from the IT Helpers nearby.
