Welcome to Dementia Action Week 2021!

Welcome to Dementia Action Week 2021! Dementia is a biological disease with many diverse causes and which affects people of all ages but it is a condition that our current care system is unable handle. Yet, with the right support people with dementia can live a good quality of life, doing what matters most to them for as long as possible.

Sadly, our chronically underfunded and dysfunctional care system has lack of adequate care support have left nearly a million people with dementia and their families struggling to get the support and care that they need and deserve, something left in stark relief by the coronavirus pandemic. As things stand, dementia destroys the lives not only of those living with the disease but all those who love and support them, as this video produced by the Alzheimer’s Society shows.
