Mass Observation 1980s has arrived!

Hot on the heels of our last humanities purchase, we are delighted to add the 1980s module of Mass Observation.  This digital archive contains topics of interest to a wide range of subjects, including History, Politics, the Social Sciences and more, covering themes as diverse as current events, friends and family, the home, leisure, politics, society, culture and the media, work, finance, the economy and new technology.

Examples of topics that are covered in depth include the Falklands War, clothing, attitudes to the USA, reading and television habits, morality and religion, and Britain’s relations with Europe.  The directives and responses have been described as “an essential resource for anyone interested in late-twentieth-century British social history”.
