Update – Summer 2019

Sports & Recreation are offering stress less relaxation sessions again during the 2019/20 academic year on Thursday afternoons during term-time, with ten minute sessions starting promptly at 2.15 pm, 2.30 pm and 2.45 pm in Seminar Room 2 from Thursday 10 October 2019 onwards.

If you cannot attend a relaxation session in person, you can always download a similar session from the podcasts and audio file blog posts on our stress less relaxation session leader’s blog, Grounded in Stillness.

Update 05.04.17 – The period over which free St Paul’s Gym access will be offered to students has changed slightly and will now run from 7-9 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Tuesday 2nd May – Thursday 1st June 2017, inclusive.

I was chatting with our friendly Sports and Recreation co-ordinator a few weeks ago about how we could work more closely together to encourage hard working students to take a regular break and let off steam.  Exercise breaks reduce stress, boost concentration and help keep you in top shape ready for whatever your summer brings.  We came up with lots of fun and promising ideas that we are working on.

First of all, we are delighted to confirm Sports & Recreation will be offering a Stressless Activities programme to all students (whether you have paid to join the gym or not!) during the examination and assessment period from 24th April until 2nd June.  This will include free use of St Paul’s gym from 7 – 9 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as other free sports sessions and events that we will let you know about nearer the time.

Until then, there is always space for a quick stroll, run or full blown workout in leafy Ravelin Park!
