Wireless network upgrade announced

Resolved 01.09.16 – The upgrade appears to have been successfully completed and services are working normally.

IS have advised that as part of the University’s continued investment to ensure we offer the very best facilities and services, the University wireless core infrastructure will be upgraded on Wednesday (31 August) and Thursday (1 September) to meet the increasing demand for wireless connectivity.

From Wednesday (31 August 2016), when you connect you will be prompted to accept a new certificate.  IS recommend you “accept” the certificate.  For more information please see this IT Help article.

The major element of the upgrade work will be carried out on Thursday morning between 8am and noon.  During this period there will be some disruption to the wireless service of about twenty minutes in each building.  IS apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
