Try traffic-free cycling
Cyclist of all ages and abilities are invited to Southsea seafront on Sunday, 27 September for Portsmouth City Council’s first Pedal Portsmouth cycling event. Turn up and try cycling around four miles of roads completely free from any traffic (other than cyclists!) between 11am – 3pm. This is a great opportunity to get back in the saddle if you have not ridden for a while. Free family activities will also be available on Castle Field and all seafront attractions will be open as usual.
Regular rides with British Cycling Ride Social
If you live in the North of Portsmouth, you can also register to join British Cycling Ride Social rides. These rides meet at King George V Playing Field and Farlington Marshes car park at 9.45 am and are suitable for all abilities. Unlike the Pedal Portsmouth event, places for the BCRS rides are limited and adults need to register in advance. All Ride Social participants are welcome to collect a free water bottle from the British Cycling gazebo at the Pedal Portsmouth cycling event.
