New e-resources for you this Spring – newspapers

We have bought lots of new e-resources for you this Spring and wanted to introduce them to you a few at a time. A full list is included on the Library news page if you are keen to get started using them right away.

Times Digital Archive

Search through the complete digital edition of The Times (London), 1785-2009, using keyword searching to retrieve full facsimile images of either a specific article or a complete page.  Scanned images of the entire newspaper are included, with all articles, advertisements and illustrations/photos divided into categories to make them easier to search.  Formerly available as a subscription, this has now been bought in perpetuity.

Proquest Historical Newspapers: Guardian & Observer

This historical newspaper provides genealogists, researchers and scholars with online, easily searchable first-hand accounts and unparalleled coverage of the politics, society and events between 1791 and 2003.
