Issue Counter Changes

The more observant will have noticed a lot of activity around our issue counter as of late, and some impressive looking equipment being installed.

This is our new book return sorter. When finished, it will look like an ATM, accepting your books at one end and sorting them by floor to help us get them back on the shelves for you in double-quick time!

So far, the returns sorter has been commissioned and installed and testing has begun. This will continue through to Jan 1oth to iron out any operational issues. We also have to undertake some staff training and some further demolition work is required on the remains of the old issue counter. The system should be in full service later this month.
