World’s shortest commercial flight

The distance covered by this scheduled flight service between Westray and Papa Westray in the Orkney Islands is apparently shorter than the main runway at Edinburgh airport. The video clip, which includes takeoff and landing, lasts only about two and a half minutes.

  1. That’s on my shortlist of flights to do at some point!
(By the way, do you think that the article has an extra ‘r’ in the name of where the plane was built??)

    • Quite wright! Well spotted Emma. The aircraft in question, by the way, is the Britten-Norman Islander, which first saw production at Bembridge on the Isle of Wight.
